Marzelli Deli was founded in 2004 by Louis Marzelli with the mission of bringing “The finest and freshest quality products, large portions, and the Italian Tradition to the town of Newbury.”
Louis Marzelli created the idea to offer prepared take and bake dinners for working families, busy singles, and couples to have homemade meals without the work. Thus, the deli was built and highly successful for many years, passed down to Louis’ son, Vinny, the tradition stayed strong within the family.
In May of 2019, Henry Welkes and Jessica Cocco purchased the deli from the Marzelli family and were set to continue the traditions the Marzelli family built. They’ve kept the same meals and recipes and have added a little ‘spice’ of their own to the mix.
In May of 2021, on their 2 year anniversary of owning the deli, Henry and Jessica changed the name to Fat Belly Deli & Kitchen, officially making it their own home. The same traditions still carry on along with new traditions that have been and are being created everyday.
